Sp. j. develops innovative technologies that will help reduce the negative impact of waste disposal.
Metal Expert is the inventor and designer of two variants of installations for waste management with energy recovery for municipal waste and sewage sludge. All intellectual property rights and know-how belong exclusively to Metal Expert.
History of our pyrolysis projects
1st of January 2013 – 30th of September 2015 – Metal Expert implemented a project co-financed from EU funds under Measure 1.4 of the Operational Program Innovative Economy 2007-2013, titled “Development of innovative waste-to-energy plant based on low-carbon processing technology”.
This project allowed for the development of the MEx 1 prototype of an installation for the treatment of municipal waste RDF
1st of May 2014 – 31st of December 2015 – Metal Expert implemented a project co-financed from EU funds under Measure 1.4 of the Operational Program Innovative Economy 2007-2013, titled “Development of innovative waste-to-energy plant based on low-carbon processing technology”.
This project allowed for the development of the MEx 1 prototype of an installation for the treatment of municipal waste RDF.
Pyrolysis reactors powered by electricity were used in the years 2014 – 2015 for laboratory tests and in the first prototypes of pyrolysis installations (MEx 1 and MEx 2). The reactor allowed to verify and optimize the pyrolysis process for various types of batch materials (including residual waste, sediments, biomass, plastics).
Years 2016 – 2017 – development of a new concept of EL PIRO reactors for pyrolysis designed by Metal Expert and creation of prototype solutions that will be used in the future production of installations for valorization of waste.
New devices are characterized by power change, using a gas burner instead of electricity. The gas burner uses the pyrolysis gas produced in the process, which makes it possible to maintain the autothermal process.
EL PIRO reactors are also characterized by a larger heat exchange surface compared to previous prototypes. Faster pyrolysis process and higher efficiency of thermal energy supply are the characteristics of new projects for waste valorisation. The innovation of new solutions has been patented by Metal Expert both in Poland and other European countries.
Years 2016 – 2017 – pyrolysis installations for municipal waste are tested in the Waste Utilization Plant in Elbląg. Pyrolysis installations for sewage sludge are tested in the municipal wastewater treatment in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and in a smaller wastewater treatment plant in the Pomeranian Voivodship.
2018 – Implementation tests, start of production and sale of pyrolysis reactors EL PIRO.
